Hello There Everyone
So, you want to know a little more about who we are, right?
We are a retired couple who has worked all of our lives
in order to make ends meet. Me as an office and accounting
clerk, him as a truck driver. Our children are grown and,
along with our grandchildren, live in other states than we.
Our house is too big for us now, and we decided to try to
organize everything in anticipation of possibly downsizing
to a smaller place.
What we found is that we have collected a lot of pretty
neat stuff over the years!
I have always loved vases, so I have a few that I keep on
display but found that there are so many in the cupboard
downstairs that I will never use them all.
Candles, candleholders, oil lamps, figurines, wall decor,
Boxes, Baskets, Other cute containers- Geesh! They are so
neat but I really don't have the space to keep them all out.
We inherited some more collectible doo-dads when we lost
various family members over time. So those special things
have added to our many many groups of stuff we will never use.
Spoons! I got interested in Souvenir Spoons some years ago.
What a fun hobby! I still enjoy finding that "perfect" one!
Well, now I have hundreds of them and will never put them all
on display at the same time. Besides, who wants to clean
and polish hundreds of them over and over ad infinitum?
So, we decided to attempt to use the internet to accomplish
our goals: organizing, displaying, downsizing.
As we find collectible items around the house, we agree on a
price that we are both comfortable "letting go" of the item.
We make sure it is nice and clean, measure it, weigh it, and
then research it as necessary to provide a complete description.
Then we take photos of each item and display it at:
in the appropriate category.
Okay, here's the thing. We aren't looking to get rich by
selling off everything we own. We just have too many nice
things to keep everything. If we had wall space and display
cabinets enough to display everything then I would put them
all on display, but we don't so I can't. So meanwhile, we are
displaying them here.
Another of my hobbies is learning. I hope I will never get too old
to keep on learning! Since we retired, I have taken online class
after online class on creating websites, creating and editing
pictures and photos, and more. I love free online tutorials!
I have spent a lot of time researching the items in our collections
as well, and have documented the sources of the information I have
used to make it easier for us to decide on the values to use as
we price our collectibles
Eventually, we intend to include our research resources on this site.
We also plan to include links to our favorite online learning tutorials,
free online resources, favorites, and links to partnership sites
-sites that have helped us along the way to providing this site to you.
We hope you will enjoy browsing through each display.
The process of adding more things to the display is on-going,
naturally, and will continue for many weeks and months. We
hope you will bookmark the site and come back often to check out the
new displays. If the price is right, buy, if not, make an offer.
We would love to hear from you.
